Automatic process discovery, also known as task mining, is a method for identifying business processes by monitoring user interactions with a variety of systems, such as enterprise solutions (ERP, CRM, BPM, ECM, etc.), personal productivity tools (Microsoft Excel, Outlook, etc.), terminal and virtual environments. Process discovery records user interactions with any application, in contrast to process mining, which reconstructs processes using information from event logs created by enterprise solutions. It captures the information required for recognizing RPA possibilities and automatically creating bots, including as mouse movements and clicks.
